Naši studenti opět na EYP!

Již v listopadu se Regionální výběrové konference Evropského parlamentu mládeže (též EYP) v Litoměřicích zúčastnilo několik studentů z naší školy. Teď, na začátku prosince, je následovali další čtyři jejich spolužáci: Daniel Mezera z 1. F, Jan Španiel z 1. H a Anna Stieberová s Lucií Bambuškovou z 6. A. Konference se tentokrát konala v Ostravě. O zkušenostech našich studentů se můžete dočíst v následujících řádcích:

Daniel Mezera, 1. F: EYP was simply amazing. I sincerely recommend it to every single one of you in any language you understand. I think the best part of the whole session was the General Assembly, since we got to present our final clauses, and to assess the others. The only thing I did not like about the weekend was the fact that there were not enough hours of sleep. I was lucky to get an amazing committee with a great Chairperson. I really hope I will make it to the final round in Olomouc.

Jan Španiel, 1. H: This EYP session was a unique experience for me. I was in the committee EMPL1, which dealt with improving of the current pension system and dealing with the decrease of the fertility rate in the EU.  During my time there I met some incredible people and learned a lot. I tested my English and communication skills while working on the resolutions with my committee and then challenged myself with public speaking during the general assembly. I really enjoyed my time in Ostrava and I hope that I will have the chance to take part in EYP in the future.

Anna Stieberová, 6. A: Taking part in the European youth parliament was a wonderful experience. It was my first time as a delegate so everything was new, exciting, but quite overwhelming at times. I learned a lot about teamwork, decision making and communication and made amazing memories. My committee REGI1 dealt with repurposing decommissioned buildings, which you can see in action even in our city with the revitalization of the Automatic mills. We came up with many ideas for possible improvements and our resolution was accepted by the majority. Overall, I really enjoyed the whole event and would recommend it to everyone who is open to challenging themselves.

Lucie Bambušková, 6.A: I knew, what to expect from EYP session, because it was my third session and I applied here all my experiences from previous year. In our Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), we discussed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s and Kosovo’s potential accession to the EU. Unfortunately, our resolution didn’t pass, but we worked hard and our topic was one of the hardest to solve. I also met new, amazing people from other cities in the Czech Republic and lot of foreign countries across all Europe and I said them goodbye almost with tears in my eyes. If you ever thought over to participate in EYP, go into it, it’s really worth it.

Co je to European Youth Parliament?

Evropský parlament mládeže v ČR, z. s. (EPM v ČR), je neziskovou, politicky neutrální a nezávislou organizací, zaměřující svoji aktivitu zejména na žáky středních a vysokých škol. Cílem je přispívat k rozvoji dovedností a znalostí mladých lidí v ČR vytvořením platformy pro svobodné sdílení názorů. Aktivity EYP zapojují studenty do diskuze o evropských i globálních tématech a zároveň rozvíjí jejich tzv. „soft skills“, tedy mimo jiné komunikační schopnosti, kritické myšlení, organizační dovednosti, schopnosti argumentace, rétoriku, vedení lidí, práci v týmu a cizí jazyky. V přístupu ke studentům jsou kombinovány prvky aktivního užívání cizího jazyka a akademické diskuze s praktickými dovednostmi v mezinárodním prostředí.

EPM v ČR pořádá každoročně dva typy zasedání, na která je možné se přihlásit – jsou jimi Regionální výběrová konference (RVK) a Národní výběrová konference (NVK). Na RVK i NVK se registrují školní týmy. Obě akce mají jako pracovní jazyk angličtinu a programem jsou si velmi podobné. Z RVK se vybírají delegace, které se budou účastnit NVK a dále z NVK jsou vybírány delegace či jednotlivci, kteří se budou účastnit zasedání v zahraničí, včetně těch největších, kterým se říká Mezinárodní zasedání a na kterých jsou spolu delegace ze všech 40 zemí, které jsou do EPM zapojeny.
